Perched atop the rocky Mallakonda hills, this temple offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in Prakasam district. Racherla Temple
రాచర్ల ఆలయం
The Racherla temple is a remarkable piece of Andhra's ancient architectural heritage. This beautifully preserved stone temple with its finely carved shikhara stands serenely in a landscaped compound. The intricate carvings on the shikhara and the surrounding pillared mandapam reflect the craftsmanship of a bygone era, when artisans devoted their entire lives to building places of worship that would endure for millennia. A hidden gem of Prakasam district that deserves far wider recognition.

Ancient Horseshoe Stepwell
పురాతన మెట్ల బావి
Hidden near Kanigiri lies one of the region's most extraordinary historical treasures — an ancient horseshoe-shaped stepwell built entirely of dry-stacked stone. The perfectly semicircular descending tiers of stone steps lead down to still, dark water. Likely built during the medieval period to serve travellers and pilgrims crossing the Eastern Ghats, this forgotten engineering marvel sits quietly in the forest waiting to be rediscovered.

Jewett Memorial Baptist Church
జ్యూయెట్ మెమోరియల్ బాప్టిస్టు చర్చి
One of the most striking buildings in Ongole. Built in the late 19th century in spectacular neo-Gothic style using locally quarried stone — pointed arched windows in teal, ornate orange-red trim, crenellated towers topped with a six-pointed star. Named after missionary Harriet Jewett, it is a monument to the "Ongole Revival" of 1878 when over 10,000 people were baptised in a single year — one of the largest mass conversions in Christian missionary history anywhere in the world.

Standing in the coastal town of Ramayapatnam, this beautiful old brick church is a study in quiet dignity. Built in classic mission style with red and grey brick, graceful arched entrance, circular rose window and a slender pointed spire topped with a cross. One of the earliest coastal landmarks in Prakasam district, it glows warmly at twilight against the open sky — a landmark of the fishing community's deep Christian heritage stretching back over a century.

Giddalur Jama Masjid
గిద్దలూరు జామా మసీదు
Rising dramatically from Giddalur against the Eastern Ghats, this spectacularly ornate mosque is one of the most visually striking religious buildings in Prakasam district. The vibrant teal-green dome surrounded by two intricately decorated minarets adorned with pink, white and gold geometric patterns creates a breathtaking explosion of colour and craftsmanship. The elaborately layered minarets reflect the rich Islamic architectural tradition blended with local Telugu sensibility — a testament to the beautiful diversity of Prakasam's cultural heritage.
