Gandhi Park is the green heart of Ongole — a beloved public space where the city has gathered for generations. Shaded by old trees, the wide lawns are perfect for morning walks, family evenings and community celebrations. The park truly comes alive during the spectacular Holi Pride festival, when thousands of young Ongolians fill the grounds at dusk — stage lights cutting through the darkness, a roaring DJ, giant LED screens and the entire city dancing and celebrating together under the open sky.

Rangarayudu Cheruvu is Ongole's most beloved lake — the place the city comes to exhale. Fringed with tall coconut palms and old shade trees whose reflections shimmer in the still water, this large urban lake is a masterpiece of calm in the middle of a busy city. The golden light of sunset turns the entire surface into liquid copper while families stroll along the bund, children play on the grass, and fishermen cast their nets in the early morning silence.

ABM Grounds is Ongole's most iconic open sports arena — a vast red-earth expanse where the city's sporting life plays out every single day. The towering Indian tricolour at the very centre flies proudly against the open blue sky, with the bold blue ONGOLE signboard in Telugu and English visible behind it. Multiple cricket matches run simultaneously on any given evening: local club teams, school boys and weekend players all sharing the space. Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations are held here too.

There is a moment every evening at PVR Grounds that no Ongole local ever forgets — when the sun descends to just above the rooftops and turns the entire sky a deep molten gold, and the silhouettes of young cricketers playing with a dusty pitch and bright yellow wickets become pure poetry against the burning sky. This is where Ongole's cricket passion burns its brightest: matches run until the very last light fades. Coaches, fathers, enthusiastic spectators and aspiring youngsters crowd the edges every single evening.
